Lyrics

(c) 2000 by DSF

This song is dedicated to a person so dear

If I ever lost her, why I think I’d die right here

I love her beauty and I love her mystic mind

But the thing I love most of all, is the fact she’s mine

 Refrain

Annie O Annie, it ain’t no lie

I’ll love you forever, even after I die

Now you’re quite a woman and I knew I was in luck

When you came running after, why I thought it might be tough

Without you I couldn’t take it, and I hope it don’t get rough

When it’s all over they’ll see we’re no bluff

 Refrain

You know what I told you bout my goals in life

How I need a woman, to help me through the strife

And I used to think, I should be rich as I could be

And ride the horse, the very best you see

 Treat Same as Refrain

Well this ole cowboy, he got the steed

And you’re all the riches he’ll ever need

Now we didn’t know, if it was going to work

And if it didn’t, why we knew we’d both be hurt

It seemed like forever, but it finally broke through

And happily ever after just me and you know who

 Refrain Twice

Sometimes high, sometimes low

In the now, In the know

Wishes, hopes and strong convictions

What does his mind envision?

Some things he does not now know

Some things he’s feelin’ grow

And then those things, that haven’t come true

Keep him goin’ on and they’ll see him through

An orchestrated dreamer

A Panasonic receiver on paper

And then things, they fall into place

Oh settling, and then back into space

And then things seem to work themselves out

And makes it hard to have too much doubt

Thoughts and dreams and facts and fiction

And these are forty six of his reasons.

Story

The rythm guitar part was written back in about 1971. I suppose the lyrics are about the same as back then. Thought we finally got a good do on the music and went with it.

Lyrics

I love the way you’re

Always lovin me

I love it when you’re

always there for me

I love the way you’re

Always lovin me

I’m lovin you Baby

Just like Heaven said I would

I’m lovin you Baby

Just like Heaven said I could

I’m lovin you Baby

Just like Heaven said I should

I love the

You’re always holdin me

I love the way you’ll

Never let go of me

I love the way you’re

always showin me

We can love each other

Just like Heaven said we would

We can love each other

Just like Heaven said we could

We can love each other

Just like Heaven said we should

I’m those footsteps behind you

On dimly lit streets,

Behind bushes and shadows,

That whisper so sweet

Refrain

Welcome to the Boogyman’s lair

I’m under your bed

Just outside your window

I live in you head

Beware here comes an alley

Blue van hidin’ there

Just wantin’ to grab you

Rush by, ahead stare

Refrain

You’re finally home now

Head up the stairs

Without even knowing

If anyone else is there

Refrain

I live in your closet

With your toys and clowns

I hang, in the attic

With stuff you should pawn

Refrain

I lurk in the basement

Cause the lights not so good

And lots of good stuff there

The tools for the gore

Intro= Refrain Chords

It’s a little slice of Heaven, and I can’t explain

When you’re near it don’t matter, if it shines or if it rains

It’s a little slice of Heaven, and what do you know

Some advise I been hearin’ is to try and take it slow.

Refrain

It’s a little slice of Heaven, loving you

It’s a little slice of Heaven, loving you, loving you

It’s a little slice of Heaven, and what will we chose

Will we win life together, or blow it all and lose

It’s a little slice of Heaven, so what do we do

A mistake we’d be makin’ if we didn’t see it though

Refrain

Guitars only for verse

Refrain

It’s a little slice of Heaven, and I can’t explain

When you’re near it don’t matter if it shines or if it rains

It’s a little slice of Heaven, and what can I say

And I’ll love you forever, everyday, everyday

I painted the walls

Grey like the park bench in the movie

Six days had been reduced to three

And the condor was never really free

Thank you for the concern you showed

And thank you for the distrust you bestowed

And I could walk through the exit door

Argue with the ticket taker

And stall the time some more.

The law would have to be a witness

And the Heavens, issue, issue a yes

So take your gratitude, and store it well

In a narrow place that wouldn’t show,

A hollow space that couldn’t care

Because today I’ve made my declaration

No one’s going to spoil my explication, Oh no

Never again will my lips distort

Never again will my skin, twist and bend

Mr. anonymous, that’s who I’ll be,

No one will I reach for

No one will reach for me

You know I spent a lot of time

Searchin’ for a clue

Spent many an hour, tryin’ to explain

But in the end the results the same

I just won’t smile

I just won’t smile any more

I just won’t smile’ I just won’t smile no more

I just won’t smile’ I just won’t smile no more

I’ve been waitin’, oh so long

Tryin’ to write me a few songs to get me by

Songs to get me by, songs to get me by

I’ve been listening, and the words start flowin’

I’ve been watching, and the light starts glowin’

I’ve been looking and it’s the light that shines the way

Light that shines the way, light that shines the way

I’ve been waiting as the darkness, it fades

And I’m seein’ and it’s the break of the new day

I’ve been watching and it’s the Son who lights the way

Son who lights the way, Son who lights the way

I’ve been looking at the ends in the world

I’ve been watching and it’s Jesus who’s taking hold

I’ve been seein’ that it’s the Lord who saves the day

Lord who saves the day, Lord who saves the day

I’ve been waiting oh so long

Tryin’ to write me a few songs to get me by

Songs to get me by, songs to get me by

So it was hot, so very hot

We had been working, and had finished a lot

It was five-to and the sky was so blue

The sun was shinnin, it was callin you

So grab a cooler, some beer and some ice, you know it’s gonna be so nice

We’re all headed to the Cartoon Saloon

Yeah we’re all headed to the Cartoon Saloon

White sandy beaches, usually plenty of room

Park down by the water if you’ve got four wheel drive

If someone’s walkin you could give them a ride

Cause the sand is hot, but the waters not

And you’re near the water at the Cartoon Saloon

And yes sometimes there’s characters there

Like pirate Harry and Sara fair

And Sheps and Nuttles, the Mores and the Moles

And Markums and Slick and Farnish and Co.

But it don’t really matter, when you’re in the water

In the water at the Cartoon Saloon

There’s football and Frisbee, croquet, and horse shoe

Flyin a kite or fishin will do

Just slash in the water and listen to some tunes

Or just sittin and tannin and throwing down brew

Cause it don’t really matter if you’re in the water

In the water at the Cartoon Saloon.
